Image result for Hearing of BOC on importation of shabu passing through the green lane

From Inquirer - Customs official blamed for P6 billion worth of Shabu imported from Chna

The 700 kg shabu worth about P6 billion were imported through customs legally, via the green lane.  Why was it possible.  It turned out the culprit is the computer system which when given parameter would be allowed to pass through:

            Green lane -   no inspection

Yellow lane  -  examination of documents

Red lane -  opening of the container and 100 inspection

A customs official, presumably in charge of the IT hypothesized that the system can be defeated and they may be more such shipment.  But the senators who are incisive and sharp raised the question:  (Trying to pull wool over the senators eyes?

     1.  Were the parameters observed?

     2.  How could a single prop company, no history of importation allowed to use the green lane

     3.  Why were they continued to allow importation even after they were discovered

As for Com Faeldon who deserve our highest respect, he was negligent in suspending Atty Hilario, who was even allowed to tweak the data for EMT.  And yet they could not make him appear in this hearing.  It appears that he was not served written suspension

Do we agree with the senators, while Faeldon owns the responsibility that either:   they are incompetent or corrupt

Mayor of Ozamis City Parojinog and 14 others slain in police raid; daughter arrested

The mayor of Ozamis City Mayor Reynaldo "Aldog"Pajorinog and  14 others (wife of the good mayor also died) were slain in a police raid. led by CIDG Region 10 and PNP Provincial Command    They were supposed to serve a warrant but was met with volley of gunfire from the occupants.  He was alleged have cache of arms, money and drugs.   He was in the list of narco politics with Pres. Duterte.  His daughter Nova Princess was arrested.

He is linked to the notorious Kuratong Baleleng gang, allegedly founded by his father Octavio

The Mayor was alleged to be the supporter of Sen. de Lima, The daughter is is alleged to be in relationship with one of the drug personality who is also from Ozamis - Herbert Golangco

It is perhaps a coincidence:

1. That the police chief at Ozamis City (who was alleged to have beaten a drug suspect lately) is Giovanni Espenido, the chief police of Albuera, where the late Mayor Espinosa also a suspected narco politician;

2.  The  6 search warrant  (for six various locations)vs. Mayor Pajorinog was served at 2:30 am, the same time a similar warrant was served to Albuera Mayor Espinosa, when he allegedly shot it out with CIDG operatives resulting in the former's death.

There are some questions about the raid:

1. The CCTV were disabled allegedly for survival of operatives. The operatives vs Octavio were liquidated.

2. The warrant which should be served during normal working hours were served in the wee hours of the morning    This reference suggests a 6 am to 10 pm time to serve the warrants;   not mention wee hours of the morniing

3. The neighbors suggested that the security force of the mayor did not start the shooting:   the police did

Do I expect that the same fate awaits the former mayor of a neighboring town who was rumored to be the brains of a drug tiangge in the said town, and being behind a shabu lab in an island barrio

Last week,  I was engaged in a discussion who compared our province with that of Bulacan, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Batangas, Cavite and Laguna. They were definitely way way ahead of what used to the premier province of the Philippines.  The reason, it has been under a dynasty of a family for nearly two decades with the mother, son and father team, alternating of running for chief of the province.

Compare that with other provinces and cities, where the candidates, and the  elected officials compete to implement the best initiatives and improvements

So no new ideas, no  new initiatives are brought forward.  Economic development, real job growth is relegated to the back seat (or the trash can)   How about attracting investments. All we had are gymn, waiting shed construction,   garbage recycling.  and nothing more.   But other provinces think of new highways, new economic zones, trade and tourism drives, and campaigns.  Plan for new cities and relocation of cities and towns.

Naturally, they have same blood at the towns and barangays, what can we expect.

Couple this with allegations that their families are involved in drugs

It is my observation, thanks to President Duterte's leadership, the govt is very strong I would say, 70% vs 30% private sector. While this is good in bringing peace and order and stability this could pave way for abuse and stunting private initiative

While we decry strong central planning (as is happening in autocratic countries) it could be very well be happening in our country.   I have observed  local govt:   barangay, town, and province exerting considerable authority and control over their constituents.

A Msgr priest, just assigned in Marikina city was arrested by the police for allegedly trafficking minor last Firday.   He was supposed to have a date with 13 year old and and the mother informed the police.  The priest deal with the pimp at FB.  The priest was known to be the President of a Catholic School in Rizal

The priest was alleged to have drawn his gun when the police was trying to arrest him.

The police seemed  to be cruel with the priest for jailing him for an attempted crime.  In the meantime, the archbishop  of  in charge of the priest prayed for the faithful to prevent further spread of rumors and so that the truth will come out.  What about the good deeds he has done for his parishioners in the past.?  Sabagay the priest is supposed to be model for chastity?  And he is the biggest hypocrite of all for doing this as alleged.

In the meantime, the Bishop of the diocese was heard to have removed the Monsignor from his jobs at the church.

News has it that drugs and other contraband being back in vengeance at NBP despite the presence of elite SAF PNP members prove that every one has a price.  No one is incorruptible.  Before they looked that way slapping the prisoners who attempt to befriend them

Remember the movie SWAT?   The elite SWAT team of LAPD turned their back on their comrades, after a captured alleged crime lord offered them $100 million if he could escape.   Wow that is a lot of money.  Surely any one  would grab that opportunity to be suddenly rich.

Which reminds us of a story.   A philosopher asked a beautiful socialite if she would sleep with him for $1 million.  To which the latter said Yes.  The philosopher asked again  "How about for a $100? "  The lady replied angrily, "Why do you think I am a whore"  And the philosopher said of course yes, when you answered yes to $1 million. Right now I am haggling.

Pres Duterte, the only President to face protesters, heckled and booed, was irked....

From Sunstar - No more peace talks with rebels

The President visibly irked by the Antakan ambush in North Cotabato vowed that there would be no more peace talks with communist rebels.during his SONA address and in the press con that followed yesterday, July 24, .   He would acquire more troops equip them well vs internal and external threats.  He warned  the communist rebels that they would be next after the Marawi crisis is over.   He also said that the communist strongholds where there are rebels and schools run by communists to propagate communism and subversion would be destroyed.   The anarchists may be shot also, referring the protesters who do nothing but sow chaos and disorder.:  squatting, take over of govt property

Duterte even  vented his angered on protesters who stayed their own SONA outside the Batasan complex

The warning came as the rebels killed a soldier in an encounter in Mauban Quezon. There was also an attack where rebels burned construction equipment in Lopez Quezon.  While the the rebels are staging guerilla attacks in a say deceitful way, they continue to sue for peace as is in the chant of the protesters, some news that the Reds are still open to peace talks

I think the gung ho president, the cowboy will not back down and will keep his world.

"Ano patayin ninyo ako, P.   i.  then you ask for peace talks?"

This is a quote from the President who was visibly angered by the ambush at Antakan, and the rude disrespectful behavior of the protesters as he talked to them after the SONA

You in the left, I will not talk to you. Why should I?" he said, accusing the Maoist insurgents of insincerity. He also vented his anger toward a group of poor slum dwellers who took over a housing project intended for government security forces. "You do anarchy, I will order the soldiers and the police to shoot. Even if I have to bury thousands of Filipinos. Do not do that to me," Duterte said. Some police officials in the audience applauded

How disrepectful of the President, ayaw makipag usap;   may mga representative na leftist sa gobyerno

Pres Rodrigo Roa Duterte delivered his second SONA today.  It was simpler, friendlier with protesters;   he later faced the protesters, where he was heckled and "nabastos".   Later he held a press conference where more detailed discussion of his plans were laid out.

Some highlights:

1.  His war on drugs would be unending and relentless;

2.  He hit again the US and UN for their criticisms on drug war and alleged human rights violation.  He can not be cowed by threat that me may be jailed by ICJ for human rights violation.  He has been in and out of jail before and is no longer afraid of that threat;

3.  He decried the TROs being directed vs govt laws,  like the RH law; the medicines were wasted and had expired because of the SC meddling in legislative and executive matters

4.  He supported the backs of his soldier ins Marawi and said he went there and his attitude there was he was prepared to die.   One must face an adverse situation with equanimity especially with regards to death

5.  He repeated his anger over corruption in govt, citing the case of as a friend former Sec. Sueno

6.  He is aghast over the ambush  by NPA of the PSG convoy in Davao.  Boy was he happy that he  brought armored vehicles.  His convoy was machine gunned

7.  He said that Joe Ma Sison is sick with colon cancer and said he is prepared to go to war with CPP for the next 50 years.   He chided the activists outside of BP building to go home because they are just wasting their time.  They will get nothing if ISIS let us say get into power.  He even hinted that later on those promoting anarchy can be shot if they dont stop

Pangulong Duterte vs Panggulong Jo Ma Sison

It is more fun criticizing

Rizal Philippines
July 22, 2017

Jose Ma Sison the founding Chairman of CPP NPA who exerts still a considerable influence  on the movement has apparently miscalculated the resolve of Duterte for daring the latter to stop the talking and fight, abandoning the ceasefire and fighting;  because of the latters desire for continued martial law.  The continued ML limits the movement of the armed troops/cadre of CPP NPA The attacks in Negros Mindanao by NPA military targets, the occupation of the NHA housing in Pandi, the loud protests at Batasan today the protests rally at Mendiola, the clash at US Embassy today are apparently instigated by Panggulong Sison.

The NPA is still considered as as an Foreign Terrorist Organization by US State Department

But Pres Duterte is a force to reckon with and we might still see in our  lifetime the end of the communist movement as it has died out at the rest of the world, which as has embraced socialist capitalism. Even where it was founded in Russia.

Duterte enjoys the whole support of  PNP and AFP and he makes sure by making them happy that that support continues is solid and unwavering.  He may have erred with Marvin Marcos, but that is the way he shows his support to the  PNP so that the latter will support him too to the end. And politically the vote he  got today from Congress and Senate for extension of Martial Law in Mindanao until December 2017 is solid proof of the power and strength of the govt represented by Duterte. From Inquirer - Senate Congress vote 261 -18 to extend Martial Law in Mindanao  The position of the leftist and other detractors did not get much support and traction  (Are the communists rebels losing their appeal

And now for the CPP NPA, the end may be near.

While Duterte offered his hand of peace to the Communist, they chose to stay by their ideology of continued armed conflict, the never ending thesis anti thesis of Hegel. Why cant we live in peace? Why has there  to be conflict?   Why has it to be Panggulo ng Bayan?   Joe Ma?    It is as Pres Duterte has said to be silly.

Let us make comments. Can we negotiate with the communists?

This is one of the 3 questions posed by James Deakin at his tv program Service Road at CNN to Atty Nicolas.    Well the law RA 4136 says  that only LTO which has issued the license can confiscate the license unless it has deputized certain authorities to do so like in NLEX and SLEX.  Also for MMDA:  Roxas blvd and EDSA.  But our licenses are confiscated on minor offenses by city enforcers, with each city and municipality having their own unique rules as in enforcement of helmet rule:  so prescribe full face, some require the removal of helmet upon entering their cities.   Wow.

It looks like a crazy world out there for motorists, and ripe one for corruption and bribe taking.  Guys make up your mind:   LTO, MMDA.  There oughta be a law:   one uniform law for enforcement.   Akala ko no contact apprehension with all those CCTV etc.

Du30 orders the reinstatement of Superintendent Marvin Marcos, suspect in the death of Albuera Mayor Espinosa further angering critics including erstwhile ally senators.  Du30 kept true to his statement that he will support policemen in the anti drug war campaign, and even promising to pardon those who are convicted.  This move will further embolden cops especially those whose claimed encounters/shoot outs are dubious and staged.  All ready there are complaints of those who lived to tell the tale that there were actually no encounters, shoot out, no drugs, no pot session.

NBI and DOJ earlier recommended the charge of murder vs the men under Marcos for the death of late Mayor Espinosa who was in the Baybay Leyte jail.  He was served a warrant in his jail at dawn, and was alleged to have shot it out  with the raiding team.      The death of Espinosa, is speculated to sow fear into the  hearts of those who are into narco politics.  And there are many;  including those who are engaged in the Marawi conflict

The charge was later down graded to homicide

We admire the Pres for some of his decision but this one is off.

Image result for basis for beliefs of atheists

An atheist from amongst those who attended Bible exposition of Dating Daan asked Bro Eli Soriano what is the basis for saying that God exists? To which Soriano wisely cracked, what is the basis of the questioner for asking such a question. It is a smart retort.  Surely, a denial of something is an indication of the truth

Indeed atheism is a growing trend in 20th Century (it started exploding in number in 19th century) A new trend is that of humanism rather than divinity.  Humanism says that source of the knowledge of goodness right and wrong comes from man, as in Confucianism or Hinduism.   Philosophers like Kant Fried Marx say that religion is invention of men and is used to oppress others

And since they can not be seen or be proven by data, God does not exist

From Philosophy Basics

Going back to Soriano, citing facts from the Bible and other sources even facts from cosmos, and scientists, Soriano says that the earth could not have come to being just out of sheer random event or Big Bang theory.  Rocks could not grow life on its own, or water, or even other single celled animal could not have evolved into men without supreme being intervening.   There is so much logic and so much perfection in this world in the universe that only a supreme Being like God could have willed it.

And at the moment of truth, of death, many atheists turn back to God.  Only God holds the key and answer to the question of death.  Healthy and good people die.  Why?  Only God knows the answer, and if and only we accept that truth.  Those who are in denial will surely not find the answer

He cited the case of vultures.  Vultures have such strong acid content in their digestive system that they destroy all bacteria and diseases from the meat they swallow, even Anthrax.  Thus farmers feed their dead animals suspected of having deadly diseases to vultures.   This unique character came from Supreme Creation a God.  We should be thankful that there is God governing the earth with goodness and love

All of the FA 50 fighters  are pulled out from airstrikes in Marawi City after friendly fire deaths of two soldiers.  This is the second time that an FA 50 missed its target and killed 10 soldiers and injured several others on May 31, 2017.  There are currently 12 FA 50 fighters acquired  from Korean Aerospace Industries at cost of P18.9 billion during the time of  Pres. Aquino..    The  authorities would return the said aircraft in combat until such time it would have discovered why it missed its target and hit friendly forces instead.   Unllike firing guns, firing missile, or dropping bombs cant be done accurately unless the ordnance is laser , radar of GPS guided.

It is a difficult situation for a pilot to know that you have killed your cohorts.  Blue on blue deaths.

But such not unusual, even for those who are immersed deeply in war.  Even for experts.  Like the Americans;   friendly fire account for 4% of deaths for US combatants in Iraq and Afhganistan

A massive strong earthquake attributed to movement of Leyte portion of Philippine fault.  One was reported killed and 40 confined in hospital.  Numerous houses were reported destroyed, buildings collapsed and road cracks

It was reported to be Magnitude 6.5.  Just to give a comparison, the Kobe earthquake that damaged more than 150,000 houses and buildings and that killed 10,000 was of Magnitude 6.9

There were reported numerous aftershocks and they were still strong.  There is no stat yet of damaged houses

This is quite heartbreaking.   The residents have not fully recovered yet from Yolanda, and here is another destruction.  But  Mayor Richard Gomez of  Ormoc City that may be the suffering is only for the day.   (For those whose houses are not damaged but for those whose houses were destroyed.

However, they had a grizzly task of beheading a target before they could do so. If they cant do it, they are the ones beheaded.   Faisal said he was with the group since he was 10 years old (he is now 17)

He was with the logistics group that supplied ammo and placed them in several houses before the May 23 attack.  He said that the core group was less than 10 when they entered  Marawi but multiplied because Maute members all ready in Marawi  and the prisoners that they freed   He regretted that he did not tell the Mayor of the planned attack and regretted having joined the group because of the destruction wrought in the city by the conflict.

Jeff Horn won over Sen. Manny Pacquiao this morning at Brisbane Australia in an unanimous decision 117 -111.   Many fans and boxing experts are disappointed if not furious.  A hometown decision?

Many noted the following:  head butts, grappling, wrestling from Horn.   Pacquiao sustained headbutt wound that required 14 stitches. (The doctor is from Las Vegas and did a very good job)   Pacquiao in a TV interview with Dyan Castellejo complained that the inexperienced referee did not stop Horn from the headbutt and other unprofessional tactics, nor subtracted  points.

Other critics say it is age, lack of focus from Pacquiao, not capitalizing on the adverse effect of  sudden loss of weight by Horn.  But Horn is young fast and agressive and not awed by the 8 world division tiitle of Pacquiao.
